Alberta holds five provincial immigration draws
Between June 5 and June 19, 2025, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted several rounds of invitations, targeting skilled individuals to apply for provincial nomination. These draws focused on candidates with professional experience and in-demand skills that align with Alberta’s labour market needs. The Alberta Express Entry stream prioritized applicants from key sectors such as construction, agriculture, aviation, and healthcare. As previously outlined by the AAIP, the 2025 selection criteria also consider candidates under three specific pathways within the stream: the Dedicated Health Care Pathway, Accelerated Tech Pathway, and Law Enforcement Pathway. These targeted draws reflect Alberta’s strategic approach to addressing critical workforce shortages and attracting talent to support the province’s economic growth.
As of June 19, 2025, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has issued a total of 2,535 nominations out of its annual allocation of 4,875, leaving 2,340 nomination spots still available for the remainder of the year. This indicates that Alberta continues to have significant capacity to welcome more skilled workers through its provincial immigration streams. The AAIP provides detailed breakdowns for each stream selected in recent draws, including individual nomination allocations, the number of nominations issued, and the number of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) currently in each stream’s candidate pool, offering transparency into the province’s ongoing immigration efforts
