Ontario issues invitations to provincial immigration candidates under job offer streams

After a four-month pause, Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has resumed issuing invitations to immigration candidates. On June 6, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted a targeted draw specifically for candidates with job offers in the Greater Sudbury region. To be eligible, applicants needed to have created an active Express Entry profile on or before June 3, 2025, and meet specific criteria, including residing in Canada and holding at least a bachelor's degree. A total of 72 candidates were invited in this round and are required to submit their applications by June 20, 2025. This draw follows the program’s broader resumption on June 3, when 3,719 invitations were issued through various Employer Job Offer streams. Before this, OINP had held just one draw in 2025, back on January 15, which targeted four foreign nationals under the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot. Notably, the province also announced a reduction in its 2025 nomination allocation, capping it at 10,750 slots.

Ontario’s Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is set to implement a major update to its Employer Job Offer streams, transitioning from an applicant-led process to an employer-led model. Under the new system, employers will be required to initiate the application process by submitting job offer details directly through a newly launched Employer Portal. Only after this step is completed can candidates register their Expression of Interest (EOI). In addition to changing the application flow, the new system also represents a shift from a paper-based process to a fully digital platform. Candidates who have already submitted EOIs will need to coordinate with their employers to resubmit these applications once the portal goes live on July 2. This updated EOI system will apply to three specific streams: the Foreign Worker Stream, the International Student Stream, and the In-Demand Skills Stream. More information about the updated process is available on the OINP website.
